POPPIES IN PEACE

Thank you to Mrs Rosie Goodwin and Mrs Karen Thompson (from MakeMoreArts) for their work with Classes 3 and 4 on Tuesday (16th) on the project of Poppies In Peace. This is part of an exhibition being held at the Beck Isle Museum exploring the ways that war changes us, marking the end of WW1 and allowing visitors a chance to reflect on themes of survival, resilience and change.

The children heard stories of young men/boys who went off to fight in World War 1, our returning heroes. The children then worked on making poppies as visual signs of remembrance for either these returning soldiers, family members or family friends affected by war.

The exhibition is at the Beck Isle Museum from 5th November to 24th November— normal admission charges apply. Although there will be free admission on Saturday 24th November from 10am to 4pm.
